On the evening of May 24, 2022, a 60-year-old man from Saarbrücken was driving his convertible in Wadern-Krettnich. Despite cool temperatures, the man was completely naked. At 10:00 PM, he left the road to the right in a left-hand curve on the main thoroughfare heading towards Primstal at excessive speed. Before that, he had forced an oncoming driver to swerve onto their lane to avoid a collision. Off the road, the naked man destroyed a flower pot and a construction fence element before finally coming to a stop on a pallet of building materials. Both airbags deployed in the convertible. Police officers from the Nordsaarland Police Inspection and the arriving rescue service freed the man from his vehicle and provided care. The reason for the man being naked is currently unknown. However, it is certain that he was under the strong influence of alcohol, as confirmed by a breathalyzer test. For examination and blood sampling, the driver was taken to Hermeskeil Hospital. An investigation is now underway against the man on suspicion of endangering road traffic. His convertible was heavily damaged in the accident.
