On Sunday, May 22, 2022, around 9:50 PM, a heavily intoxicated man from Losheim am See was in a kebab shop on Saarbrücker Straße in 66679 Losheim am See, where he began provoking and insulting customers.

An employee of the kebab shop tried to calm the situation, whereupon the 59-year-old man punched him in the face and hit him on the neck with a clenched fist. This led to a commotion during which the man knocked over a table, damaging three mobile phones. The overturned table also injured another guest on the shin and upper body. The troublemaker headbutted another guest on the nose, causing injury, and also damaged a parked car.

After the arrival of two units from the Nordsaarland police station, the rioter leaned against a parked fire truck and prevented it from driving away. The rioter was asked by the police officers to move away from the fire truck, but he showed no interest. Instead, he suddenly struck toward the head of a police officer, who was able to deflect the attack. Several police officers then brought the rioter to the ground and handcuffed him.

The 59-year-old was taken to the Nordsaarland police station, where a blood sample was taken from him on the order of the public prosecutor's office, and he was then allowed to sleep off his intoxication in a cell.

Fortunately, none of the six guests attacked were seriously injured. The rioter now faces multiple criminal charges for insult, assault, property damage, and physical assault on law enforcement officers.
