How did Jews actually live in the Middle Ages? Anja Sievers explores this question in her novel "Judenmadonna" - published by St. Ingberter Conte Verlag. As part of the Saarland "erlesen" festival, she presented her book at the St. Ingbert City Library and took the numerous listeners into the world of medieval church art in Alsace, Madonna painting, and book printing. Vivid depictions of the Inquisition and the obsession with Jews are also present in her excellently researched novel. Love and death – the eternal themes of romance – round off the story into an exciting overall work.
The author captivated the audience with thrilling excerpts from the novel and interesting insights into her work.
