On May 10, 2022, at around 1:00 PM, a fire broke out in an empty dog kennel with a garden tool shed in 66440 Blieskastel-Webenheim, Buchenweg. Despite the timely arrival of the Blieskastel fire department, the shed burned down completely. There were no personal injuries, and the surrounding residential houses were unaffected except for smoke exposure. A hedge on an adjacent property was damaged. Property damage amounted to approximately 5,000 euros. The police have initiated investigations into the cause of the fire.
