On Thursday, 05/05/2022, around 5:00 PM, a police chase took place on Kuchenbergstraße in 66538 Neunkirchen.
When attempting to stop a vehicle that was wanted, the known driver fled upon seeing the police patrol car.
The chase led from Kuchenbergstraße towards Wibiloplatz, continuing on Martin-Luther-Straße towards Römerstraße. Speeds well above 100 km/h were reached during this. At the intersection of Römerstraße / Bruchwiesstraße, the fleeing vehicle overtook another road user on the left side via the oncoming lane, just as the vehicle was about to turn left. Only due to the good and quick reaction of the other road user (emergency braking) was a collision and thus a serious accident prevented.
The fleeing driver then moved his vehicle from Römerstraße via a field path to the B 41. The speed exceeded 140 km/h.
Due to the increasing risk of a serious accident, the police discontinued the pursuit. Despite extensive search measures, neither the driver nor the vehicle have been identified so far.
The aforementioned vehicle, which intended to turn from Römerstraße into Bruchwiesstraße, was a maroon passenger car (station wagon or sedan).
The driver of the aforementioned car, as well as other witnesses, are requested to contact the police station in Neunkirchen.
