Benefit concert in cooperation with the Union musicale interrégionale (UMI) as part of the GEPACO partnership of the municipality of Losheim am See with songs and hits from various decades in a diverse musical program.
Losheim am See – Since 2011, Losheim am See has been a member of the innovative GEPACO network (Gemeindepartner – Partenaires Communaux) in the Greater Region, which, in addition to the lakeside community, includes the four municipalities of Habay (Wallonia), Konz (Rhineland-Palatinate), Montigny-les-Metz (Lorraine), and Strassen (Luxembourg). The GEPACO network promotes concrete cooperation between the partner municipalities. It not only creates cross-border opportunities for meetings and exchanges between citizens but also fosters collaboration at the administrative and political levels as well as in the cultural sector.
In this spirit, two music clubs from the partner municipalities will come together at the concert on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in the Losheim railway hall to jointly create a diverse cultural evening for all interested parties. After the official welcome, the orchestra of the music club "Cäcilia Niederlosheim," conducted by Freya Hoffmann, will take over the first part of the program. Among other things, guests can look forward to a musical arrangement from "Dance of the Vampires." After a short break, the music club "Fanfare Strossen" from Luxembourg will follow. The musicians from Strassen, under the direction of Ben Seiler, will play, among other pieces, a medley by the British rock band Deep Purple. With such a wide-ranging music program, there is something for every taste.
The proceeds of the event will be donated to the association "Losheim hilft e.V.," which supports refugees and people in distress due to humanitarian crises or natural disasters. Due to current circumstances, the donations are currently benefiting aid efforts for Ukraine.
The music clubs and the municipality of Losheim am See are pleased about many guests who, with their visit, not only support the local community life but also contribute to a charitable initiative.
