On April 16, 2022, at around 1:00 a.m. in St. Wendel - Winterbach, Im Tälchen, a fire department operation took place when a stack of firewood next to a garage caught fire in an as yet unknown manner. Thanks to the efforts of the fire department, the flames were prevented from spreading to the garage roof and other buildings. According to initial findings, only some roof beams of the roof overhang were damaged by the fire. The police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
