On Good Friday at 8:15 a.m., the police were informed by a doctor from the hospital in Sulzbach about a rampaging patient. The 87-year-old man from Quierschied was reportedly mentally unstable and threatened the nursing staff with a broken glass bottle. The responding police officers found the situation as described. The patient was not receptive to conversation and continued to handle the dangerous object. To prevent the situation from escalating further, the officers calmly waited for a favorable opportunity to remove the bottle fragments from the man. All involved remained unharmed. Approximately 1.5 hours after the police were notified, the patient was admitted to a psychiatric facility. The reasons for his behavior were unknown.
