Climate Adaptation Week: State Capital Invites to Two Events
As part of Climate Adaptation Week, the state capital Saarbrücken, together with cooperation partners, offers two free events.
Citizens can learn about the impacts of climate change on everyday life and the complex interrelationships involved.
Climate Walk through Saarbrücken
How does climate change affect your own place of residence? This is the focus of the climate walk on Tuesday, September 15.
Together with the Saarland Tourism Center, the state capital invites you to a tour through Saarbrücken. Climate adaptation manager Jan-Hendrik Jochens points out at different stations where the effects of climate change are already visible and which measures for climate adaptation are being implemented. Topics include heat in densely built-up areas, shade and greenery, rainwater infiltration, and dealing with heavy rainfall.
The approximately two-hour walk starts at 5 p.m. at Schillerplatz. Further information and registration opportunities can be found at
www.tourismuslotse.saarland.
Puzzling Together at the "Climate Fresk"
At the "Climate Fresk" on Friday, September 18, participants can discover the interconnections of climate change. The interactive climate puzzle consists of various cards containing scientifically based information on the causes and effects of climate change.
Together, the group links the cards to make visible how human actions, climate changes, and their consequences are interconnected.
The event is conducted by Climate Fresk e.V. and takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Saarbrücken City Library. All further information about the event and registration is available at www.climatefresk.org.
Background
